Christmas Cookies Part 2: Fudge Walnut Cookies

For all you chocolate lovers out there, this Christmas cookie is for you!  This recipe comes from the queen of chocolate lovers, herself: my Nana.  She doesn't share dessert.  You will never hear the words "it's too rich" or "it's too sweet" cross her lips.  If polishing off See's candy and Frango mints was an Olympic event, my Nana would be a record-holding gold medalist.  Without a doubt, I inherited my insatiable sweet tooth from her... for better or worse.  Bonus: these cookies are so easy that even a bad-luck-baker could make them!

My Nana's Fudge Walnut Cookies
(Makes 4 dozen)

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 TBSP butter
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  In a double boiler (or in the microwave on 50% power), melt chocolate chips and butter, stirring constantly to prevent burning.  Once melted, remove from the heat and stir in condensed milk and vanilla.  Stir in flour and walnuts until incorporated.  Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.  Bake for 9-10 minutes.  Allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring them from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack (or your mouth).

As my Nana would say, "Have two, they're small!"
